Portraits with an Asian Twist

These are portraits with an Asian twist. It isn’t that often that a client brings with her an “outfit” that cries out to be photographed and processed in a very particular way.

So the other day when my friend Sandra came by, we photographed her in a beautiful full length Kimono, with delicate colors and luxurious silk sleeves. These portraits with an asian twist were a departure for me. It required that I create a different kind of pose to make her fit into the scene. Because the robe was so captivating I decided it needed some color corrections, desaturation and textures to give it more of a classic and “old-time” feeling. The ahirdo and flower add to the timelessness of the images. These images are the result of that endeavor.
